ARTIST’S STATEMENT: Dee Young, B.A.( Hons - Fine Art).
Charismatic, contemporary portraits of pets by professional artist Dee
Young. Capturing the different personalities to convey the spirit and
depth of expression that is unique in each animal. Specialising in oil
for you to enjoy and remember. 
Inspired
by colour, form and pattern, such as the marks found in marine
- life, create diverse forms of intrigue and beauty. A water-world
populated with mysterious life forms found recently with the
discoveries
of over 6,000 new species. What emerges in my work is a hidden world,
painted and remade to a point of abstraction. My work provides an
escape from the mundanities of everyday life.
My work
can range from semi-representational to pure abstract. I like
to use
colour, shapes and marks to represent my experiences in the world.
Representing the space I move around in, city, rural or sea, I strip
the
detail and express in
abstraction and collage, the joy of nature and of man-made by using oil
on canvas.To
